The Eryri Passes
Llanberis, Pen-y-Pass and the Crimea — three short drives with outsized views.
Eryri's passes are short enough to drive in a morning and dramatic enough to justify a whole trip. Llanberis Pass in low cloud is worth as much as it is in sun.
Parking is the constraint. Pen-y-Pass fills before eight in summer and enforcement is strict.
Off-season is the honest recommendation: October to March, midweek, with the heating working.
