The campsite etiquette nobody explains

Most campsite friction comes from three things: noise after ten, grey water on the grass, and parking too close to someone's awning.

Fire safety spacing exists for a reason. Six metres between units is the standard on UK sites and it is not negotiable, however tempting the view.

Empty grey water at the point provided, not into the hedge. Washing-up water kills grass and smells within a day.

And say hello. The unwritten rule of the aire is that everyone helps everyone reverse.
